NYC Trip, Round 2...
09.30.04 (2:30 pm)   [edit]
KATIE TAKES MANHATTAN: OCT. 8TH-12TH!!!

Yes, people, I will be there again next weekend to live it up for my birthday (which is actually not until the 30th, so remember that). I will be spending all of my evenings at the UCB Theatre watching hilarious improv comedy shows and my days will be spent shopping in SoHo and Chinatown. I also plan on stalking the Olsen twins. :D

Also, Shaun of the Dead is the best movie ever. Go see it.

I See Hurricanes A Blowin'...
09.26.04 (9:07 am)   [edit]
I am sitting here experiencing hurricane number...4(?) for us on the west coast of Florida. I didn't even know it was gonna get us til' yesterday afternoon on my way to work! I'm glad we still have our power.

Also, I'm posting new pics and stuff either today or tomorrow. Stay tuned....

Not Too Much Here...
09.20.04 (9:32 am)   [edit]
Didn't do much this week besides go to school and gym it up w/ Kristen. This scary muscle lady owns our gym and she has pictures of herself all greased up and in a pink bikini and paintings of herself all over the gym. Ah, how inspiring. :D The other muscle lady who works there doesn't scare me as much, though. She has long, pink acrylic nails. I think she'd be great fun at sleepovers and gossiping about boys and stuff. Lol. :)

I saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow yesterday and it was SOOOOOO AWESOME!!! Everyone has to see this movie. It is different than they portray it in the trailers, not as war-like and not as boring and hard to follow as you'd think. And I love Gwyneth, Jude, and Angelina! :) 10 thumbs up!!! And, like the one movie critic guys said: "If you don't like this movie, then you don't like movies...ho!" (Actually, I added the "ho" part for dramatic effect.)

Kris and I made cookies last night and watched the third installment of the wonderful Surreal Life. Man, Flav is sure good w/ kids, but Brigitte just scares them.

Guess what kids?! I am DEFINITELY going to be making another trip to NYC in October!!! :D I can celebrate my b-day up there (not on that particular weekend, though) and see all the wonderful shows at the UCB Theatre and meet my comedic heroes! ...sigh. This is one happy little girl. Oh, and I'm going to be making runs to Chinatown to buy people illegal knockoff designer bags, so give me your money and order before Oct. 8th. :D

'Tis all for now!

Thar She Blows!
09.12.04 (5:07 pm)   [edit]
Okay, I'm sick of all this hurricane business! I'm glad, though, that it's not looking so grim for us here in Tampa Bay but I still have freaking school on Monday! :x Gosh, if we're gonna have a hurricane, I don't wanna have class; this is far too traumatic an ordeal to be having school. Darn elementary, middle, and high schools getting the day off!

The new season of The Surreal Life on VH1 is AMAZING! Amazingly stupid and fun to watch. :D It is the best season by far, with this crazy cast. Seriously, half of them are crazy. Y'all need to watch the new episode tonight or the hundred reruns during the week. I took down some of my fave quotes from the first episode:
-"There's different ways of promotion. I feel like a prostitute." -Jordan Knight (formerly of New Kids on the Block)
-"In my opinion, it was [Flava Flav & Brigitte Nielson] like two fight chicken in Mexico." -Charo
-"Flava Flave! For real surreal! Ha, ha!" -Flava Flav (formerly of Public Enemy)
-"I like the feeling when the water gets into your clothes , it just touches your skin in a strange way. It's just...ahh..." -Brigitte
-"Eh, leave spoony to forky." [referring to Flava Flav being in her bed] -Charo
-"Brigitte is marching to the tune of her own drummer, and that drummer has no clothes on." -Dave Coulier from Full House
-(to Brigitte) "What are you doing? Breastfeeding the dog?" -Flav
-"I love to be naked all the time. It's the European way." -Brigitte
-"Brigitte, she can walk naked around me all day." -Flav
-"I gonna jump out of a window and they gonna find me in Tijuana." -Charo

On another note- St. Elmo's Fire is a really good '80s movie, probably one of the best. It has all the hotties from the '80s (except the chick who looks like she's 40, that so shoulda been Molly Ringwald). I might do a longer write-up on it later. We should have a movie club (like a book club), you guys, and all watch the same movie (pref. something classic and that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime, like this one. It's so cultured.) and then discuss it on here. Lol.

Observations:
-This old dude in my Ethics class reminds me of James Earl Jones. I might ask him to say a line from Star Wars or The Lion King, lol. :D
-Meatloaf (the singer) is unconventionally sexy, especially in the "I Would Do Anything for Love" video.
-"Bad Moon Rising" is Kris and my personal theme song for this hurricane. It is a good song and reminds me of An American Werewold in London.

Okay, that's it. My sister is a diva b*tch. The end. :D

Andrew McCarthy and Rob Lowe /sigh

Hurricane Fun
09.08.04 (10:25 am)   [edit]
Oooooohhhh, this last weekend was so much fuuuun! NOT. Talk about cabin fever. Nothing crazy happened over here, some power outages and flooding but I didn't get any of that. I did get a nice 5-day weekend, though. Now we have lovely Ivan to look forward to next weekend... :?

What did I do? Well, Chad came down from O-town so he, Kris, and I had some sleepover fun. We rented Black Christmas - creepiest movie ever! It's so scary (even for being from the '70s), we watched it twice! A must-see. I worked Friday and Saturday night but didn't get to Monday (which woulda gotten me pay-and-a-half :x) b/c the mall was closed b/c of the hurricane. Kris and I rented Sasquatch to continue our scary movie fest. Yeah, it's bad, so bad I haven't finished it. It's made-for-t.v. so you know it's gonna suck; too bad I didn't know that when I wasted 2 bucks on it! :)

Last night I got to work til 1 a.m. b/c of the new floorset and will be doing the same tonight. Good thing I only have 2 days of school this week.

My life is so interesting.

Batten Down the Hatches!!!
09.05.04 (9:04 am)   [edit]
Alright, I'm reporting to my good readers while I still have an Internet connection and power. It's all crazy outside but it's supposed to get way worse. I just hope it doesn't thunder and lightning really bad- that's what gets me scared. Otherwise, I'm ready for this and I'm gonna enjoy using electrical devices while I still have power. Reminds me of a sign on a XXX store I saw in Orlando a few weeks ago that said: "No Power? No Problem. We've got battery operated fun." :D

Here We Go Again...
09.04.04 (12:55 am)   [edit]
Another freakin' hurricane?! Oh, and then another one right behind Frances...just our luck. See, every year we have false alarms, so we're making up for them this year. :) And do you see why I want out of here?

Last night, Kris, Chad, and I rented Dog Soldiers. It's about these Scottish soldiers who are doing a routine thingy in these woods and then they have to worry about fighting off these crazy werewolves. Oh man, Scottish soldiers are such hardasses, so now I fully support their troops. Scottish people in general are all hardcore- they've got whiskey running through their veins. Anyway, if you like guns, blood, and werewolves (like I do), rent this movie. I thought it was going to be stupid but it wasn't, it was so kickass. I give it 5 thumbs up! :D

A note for TJ and Andrew (and the other Flagler kids, too)- You guys, you know I'm gonna come visit. How could I stay away from you fun people? It's just not a fun place, that was my beef w/ it. And I thought TJ would be happy I wasn't coming back. I miss you guys lots and I can't wait to see y'all. Besides, you guys probably miss Ms. Life of the Party with All the Fun Plans, am I right? :D
