New York Extravaganza!
07.19.04 (3:27 pm)   [edit]
Sorry I haven't written lately guys- no inspiration here. But I'm leaving for NYC on Wednesday morning! I'm so psyched!! I'll be staying with Heidi and going to see relatives in Long Island on Saturday. Also, I will be hanging out at and seeing shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre www.ucbt.net (yeah, the same people from the TV show) and just seeing the sights. I'll be back Monday but probably way busy with work because next week is Tax Free week here so we're gonna be slammed.

And, if anyone doesn't know yet, I am staying in town. So y'all here in town have more opportunities to see me.

New Job Fun
07.10.04 (9:35 am)   [edit]
So guess who got paid to strip at work? Me! Lol. Sorry, kids, it wasn't me taking my own clothes off, but I got to strip down a whole bunch of mannequins yesterday at work. What a privilege and on my second day there! :D So, not only do I get hip, quality clothing at super cheap prices, a $10 pair of jeans, hot managers, but I get to feel up on the mannequins too! Ahh, this is the life.

This is my resting weekend because I have been out way too much way too late so don't ask me to do anything until Monday night (ssh,*secret plans*!).

Also, I've been downloading a lot of new music that is really good. Most of the artists I've heard/seen their videos while at the club and thought they were super good. Here's a couple of 'em so you peeps can check 'em out (or illegally dl their stuff :)):
-Goldfrapp www.goldfrapp.co.uk
-Zero 7 www.zero7.co.uk
-Sophie Ellis Bextor www.sophieellisbextor.net
-Girls Aloud www.girlsaloud.co.uk
Oh yeah, it figures that they're all British and I listen to them.

Party and Fun Times
07.06.04 (2:35 pm)   [edit]
My little soiree on Sunday went well, we had a fun time doing fireworks in my street and then we went to karaoke. Heidi and I had a fun reunion weekend. She is so crazy, that's why I love her. :)

I also started the new job yesterday. It'll take some getting used to b/c I've never worked in retail w/ clothing before, but it seems like a great place to work. You know what I got to do? Try on all of the new jean styles that aren't even out yet!! I get paid for this! The discounts kick so much booty, too. :D Hopefully I'll like it a lot and they'll like me so maybe I can keep the job into the school year.

Speaking of which...I have made up my mind and I'm so sure of this. I'm excited and a little scared, but I've weighed the pros and cons and this is really what I should do. There are many reasons why I'm doing this, not only to be happier, but I feel this will help me reach my goals academic-wise. I'm also doing this for other people: my friends. I have really good friends I want to stay in touch with and some that I need to build more of a relationship with; I want these people to be permanent fixtures in my life and vice versa. I apologize to all my other wonderful friends I'm leaving, I love you guys and don't worry because I'll come and visit.

Also, check out my new pics: http://photos.yahoo.com/katie..., it's the 'Party & Ybor' folder.

Party Time!
07.04.04 (11:51 am)   [edit]
Happy 4th O' July, kids! I'll be partying the night away with my crew (dry partying). :D

I had an awesome time last night with a really good friend. I'm trying to keep in touch with people who mean a lot to me and whose friendship I want to keep, and last night I did just that. Also goes to show that my torrid past (as in, senior year) doesn't have to haunt me. Thanks for a great time and giving me the chance to show you I'm not so bad anymore after all, G-man.

I've got a lot of my mind lately, specifically a big decision I have to make pretty soon. I've been weighing the pros and cons and I really need the support of my awesome friends right now. And, if anyone would like to support me by taking me out for a good time, it'd be much appreciated. :)

Standing Up for My Rights
07.02.04 (11:16 am)   [edit]
I called into work today and told them they could take their job and stick it. Well, not really, but I stood up for myself and told them I wasn't gonna take their crap anymore. The nerve of these people! When they find out I have another job (mind you, these people give me barely 11 hours a week and put me on call more than I actually work), they give me one three hour shift. Pretty shitty, huh? There's a whole list of other crap I had to endure there but I'll spare you guys. :)

Last night, a bunch of us got together at The Castle and had a super fun time. I even got to party with a new co-worker (an old friend and now we work at AE together) and one of my new managers almost came too. Ninja Dave and Sensei Pete were hardcore and stayed the latest. :D

HEIDI IS COMING IN TODAY!!! I'm super psyched! Rachel and I are going to surprise her at the airport this afternoon. I've missed that Slaghead a whole bunch. My next task is to convince her to stay here and not in NYC for the last month of our summer. Oh, and I'm also considering a location change, as in, for the whole year.

Alright, off to shave my legs for tonight's festivities! lol. Who says you have to shave your legs for a guy?

Sex and the City Marathon
07.01.04 (11:44 am)   [edit]
I have successfully completed watching the entire first season of Sex and the City. I am truly inspired and I can't wait to start season two. It is so hilarious and, even though I'm not thirtysomething nor do I live in NYC, I can relate to many of the situations. I've also come to the conclusion that I'm the Carrie. I'd always thought of myself and wanted to be the Samantha (I love Kim Cattrall and she was in Mannequin), but I'm not promiscuous enough. :D Carrie is smart, well-rounded, funny, intelligent, and has had her share of good and bad relationships, so I can relate most with her. It's my new fave show. :)

Other than that, I've been working and hanging out with my amazing friends. Heidi is coming in this weekend!!! I'm so excited! I've got so much funness planned from tonight until Sunday night. A bunch of us are going to The Castle tonight (go figure). I'm the social director of the group. :) Oh, and I'm having an exclusive 4th of July soiree; small and intimate get-together with fireworks and craziness. So, yeah, I'm busy that night.
